GEPEA Accreditation Procedure
At GEPEA, our accreditation process is transparent, structured, and designed to help organizations achieve high standards in education and professional assessments. Below is an overview of the steps involved:
1. Application & Pre-Assessment
- Submit an application form, along with organizational information, programs or assessments you want accredited, and any relevant documentation.
- GEPEA conducts an initial review (desk evaluation) to establish whether your institution or assessment body is eligible and has the basic capability to meet GEPEA standards.
2. Preparation & Gap Analysis
- Receive guidance from GEPEA on the standards, criteria, and evidence required.
- Optionally perform a self-assessment or gap analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Make necessary adjustments to your processes, policies, and resources to align with GEPEA’s requirements.
3. Formal Evaluation & On-Site Assessment
- A formal evaluation is scheduled, which can include on-site visits or remote assessments, depending on organization scope and location.
- GEPEA evaluators review documentation, observe operations, interview staff, and assess program delivery or assessment practices.
4. Report & Decision
- After the evaluation, GEPEA prepares a detailed report outlining how your organization meets or does not meet the criteria, including any non-conformities.
- If there are gaps, you are given a chance to respond and take corrective actions.
- GEPEA’s Accreditation Committee makes the final decision on whether to grant accreditation, along with any conditions or recommendations.
5. Issuance of Accreditation & Use of the GEPEA Mark
- Once accreditation is granted, you receive the formal certificate and may begin using the GEPEA Endorsement Symbol according to our usage guidelines.
- Accreditation is valid for a set term (e.g. five years), subject to ongoing monitoring and compliance.
6. Surveillance & Renewal
- During the accreditation term, GEPEA conducts periodic surveillance (either remote or on-site) to ensure continued compliance.
- Before the accreditation expires, a full reassessment is required for renewal.
- Renewal follows a similar process to the initial evaluation and reflects any latest updates in standards.
